Opening and creating new files and folders
Open existing files for viewing
Tap and hold the necessary document in the file list and select the
Preview menu item.
In the viewing mode, you can use the
Tools icon at the top toolbar to open the file settings panel and perform the following actions:
- export the document/spreadsheet/presentation,
- save a copy of the document/spreadsheet/presentation,
- print the document/spreadsheet/presentation,
- search for the necessary text within the document/spreadsheet/presentation,
- for text documents, use the Navigation option to navigate through document headings,
- protect the document/spreadsheet/presentation with a password,
- view comments via the Collaboration panel,
- view the information about the document/spreadsheet/presentation.
For DOCX files, you can also switch between the
Mobile view that helps you view documents on your mobile device more comfortably and the Standard view. By default, documents open in the Mobile view (if you switch to the Standard view, the next time documents will open in the Standard view).
To close the file, tap the
Back arrow in the upper left corner.
You can also view media files and images stored on the portal in the most popular formats, including mp4, webm, bmp, jpg, jpeg, png, etc.
Open existing files for editing
To open the file for editing from the file list:
- Tap the necessary document in the file list.
- For text documents, tap the Edit button in the top right corner of the opened document.
If you have no rights to edit the document, it will be opened in the viewing mode.
If the file format differs from the DOCX/XLSX/PPTX one, the file will be converted to the Office Open XML format for faster viewing and editing. The converted copy of the file will be opened.
If the file is currently being edited by another user, you'll be able to edit the file collaboratively in real time.
Create new files and folders
Tap the
+ button in the top right corner to create new files and folders, import files from your device, and connect cloud storages. For a full list of available options, refer to the Managing files article.
