DeepL: Translating your text

In the Document Editor, you can translate your document from and to numerous languages using the DeepL Translator, a free neural machine translation service.

Starting with ONLYOFFICE Docs 8.2, no plugins come with the editors by default. The plugins shall be installed via Plugin Manager.

First, configure the plugin:

1. Log in to your DeepL account or create a new one.
2. Subscribe to DeepL API for developers.
3. On your account plan page, find the API key and copy it.
4. Insert the key into the appropriate field in the plugin's interface.

To start the translation process:

1. Select the text that you want to translate.
2. Switch to the Plugins tab and select DeepL. The translator appears in a sidebar on the left.
3. Choose your target language.
4. Alternatively, you can insert text for translation manually. To do so, click Enter text manually on the left panel. Type new text in the field that appears or edit the already selected text (this will only affect the translation, the original text will remain unchanged).
5. Use the Copy button to copy the translation and the Insert to document button to replace the selected text with its translation.

The text will be translated to the required language.

Changing the language of your result:

Click the drop-down box and choose the preferred language.

The translation will change immediately.
