Installing the GUI version
The desktop version of online editors does not require constant connection to the internet and can work with offline files on your computer. So if you prefer this, you can either download and install the desktop editors from our website or add the link to the repository with them to your Linux OS and use them and update afterwards just like any other Linux application.
Download the latest version from our website
The latest version of desktop editors can always be downloaded using the links on our website here. You will need to choose the installation package depending on the Linux version installed on your computer:
- DEB package - in case you have a version of Debian-based Linux distribution;
- RPM package - in case you have a version of Red Hat-based Linux distribution;
- GUI package - in case you have a version of some other popular Linux distribution (also including ALT Linux, Centos, GosLinux, etc.).
After you press the selected download button, some of the browsers will suggest you select the download folder. Select it, and the download process will start.
Once the download is finished, switch to the folder where the file has been downloaded.
Now you need to run terminal from this folder. This can be done by pressing the F4 keyboard button right from the folder.
After that, run the following command:
chmod +x ./onlyoffice-installer-x64
And finally, install the package with the help of the command:
sudo ./onlyoffice-installer-x64
Running Desktop Editors
Once the installation is over, you can run the editors using your distribution's application menu: Application - Office - ONLYOFFICE.
Removing Desktop Editors from your computer
To remove desktop editors from your computer, switch to the folder with the editors installed. Find the uninstaller file there and run it to completely delete the application and its files from your computer.
