Installing on SparkyLinux

Introduction

Desktop Editors is an application that allows you to edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations stored on your computer in offline mode. It’s also possible to connect Desktop Editors to your cloud and edit documents collaboratively.

You can install Desktop Editors by using the installation package depending on the Linux version installed on your computer (download the required package here) or by compiling it for Ubuntu as per the corresponding guide.

The easier and faster option for SparkyLinux is by using the SparkyLinux terminal or APTus as per the following guide.

Installing ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors via terminal

1. Open the terminal.
2. Enter the following commands:

   apt update

   apt install onlyoffice-desktopeditors

Launch the Desktop Editors as usual.

Installing ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors via APTus

1. Open Menu -> System -> APTus App Center.
   
2. In the opened window, choose the Office directory -> ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors.
   

Running ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors

To run Desktop Editors, click the Menu button in the bottom left corner of the screen, open the Office directory, and choose ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors.

Uninstalling ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors

There are two ways of uninstalling ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors, via APTus or terminal.

Uninstalling via APTus:

1. Open Menu -> System -> APTus App Center.
   
2. Go to the Remove tab.
3. In the opened Desktop Remover window, find ONLYOFFICE and double-click it then follow the instructions of the wizard.

Uninstalling via terminal:

1. Open the terminal and enter the following command:

   apt-get remove onlyoffice-desktopeditors

2. To clean the system, enter the following commands:

   apt-get autoremove

   apt-get autoclean
