F.INV Function

The F.INV function is one of the statistical functions. It is used to return the inverse of the (right-tailed) F probability distribution. The F distribution can be used in an F-test that compares the degree of variability in two data sets.

Syntax

F.INV(probability, deg_freedom1, deg_freedom2)

The F.INV function has the following arguments:

Argument Description
probability The probability associated with the F cumulative distribution. A numeric value greater than 0 but less than 1.
deg_freedom1 The numerator degrees of freedom, a numeric value greater than 1.
deg_freedom2 The denominator degrees of freedom, a numeric value greater than 1.
