Inserting images

Add an image

  1. Select the worksheet you want to insert the image onto.
  2. Tap the Insert object icon on the top toolbar to open the new object insertion panel.
  3. Switch to the Other tab Other tab.
  4. Tap the Insert image Image option.
  5. Select one of the following options to load the image:
    • the Picture from Library icon Picture from Library option will open the Media Library where you can select the necessary file(-s).

      You must have appropriate permissions on your device Media Library.

      Before inserting, you can adjust the image metadata by tapping the App settings Settings icon in the bottom right corner of the Media Library. The following options are available:

      • Location — include or exclude the location data embedded in the image.
      • Captions — include or exclude the image captions.
      • Format — select the file format for the inserted image:
        • Automatic — automatically selects the best format for the destination. Recommended for most use cases.
        • Current — keeps the original file format, preventing any format conversions.
        • Most Compatible — converts the image to the most widely supported format.
    • the Picture from Camera icon Picture from Camera option will open the default camera application on your device. Take a photo and tap OK.
    • the Picture from URL icon Picture from URL option will open the Link Settings window where you can enter the necessary image web address in the Image URL field and tap the Insert image button.

The image will be added to your spreadsheet. You can move, resize, or customize the picture as needed.

Adjust the image settings

  1. Select the picture by tapping it.
  2. Open the Picture Settings panel by
    • tapping the Edit object icon at the top toolbar, or
    • tapping the Image option in the pop-up menu.

    You can also access some of the settings via the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

  3. The picture settings have two tabs: Picture and Shape.

    The Picture tab contains the following sections and buttons:

    • Replace — swap the current image for another one from your library or by URL.
    • Arrange — control the image position when it overlaps with other objects. Options include: Bring to foreground, Send to background, Bring forward, and Send backward. To learn more, refer to the Manipulate objects article.
    • Actual Size — restores the image to its original dimensions.
    • Delete Picture — removes the image from the spreadsheet.

    The Shape tab contains the following sections:

    • Style — customize the image appearance with options for Fill, Line (border), Shadow, and Opacity.
    • Replace — change the shape of the image (useful if you want to apply a shape overlay).

Remove an image

Tap the image to select it, then choose one of the following:

  • tap Delete in the pop-up menu, or
  • open the image settings by tapping the Edit object icon and tap Delete Picture on the Picture tab, or
  • tap the trash can icon on the bottom toolbar.
