Setting text direction and text orientation
Set text direction
Text direction determines the horizontal flow of the text within a paragraph. This setting is particularly useful when working with right-to-left languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, or Persian.
- Place the cursor within the paragraph you need, or select several paragraphs.
- Tap the
icon at the top toolbar to open the text settings panel. - On the Text tab, tap the
Text Direction option and select the necessary direction:
- Left to Right — the text flows from left to right (default for most languages).
- Right to Left — the text flows from right to left (used for Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, etc.).
Set text orientation
Text orientation determines whether the text is displayed horizontally or vertically within a text box or table cell.
The Text Orientation option is only available when the cursor is placed inside a text box or a table cell.
- Place the cursor within the paragraph you need, or select several paragraphs.
- Tap the
icon at the top toolbar to open the text settings panel. - On the Text tab, tap the Text Orientation option and select the necessary orientation:
- Horizontal Text — displays the text horizontally (default).
- Rotate Text Up — rotates the text 90° counterclockwise.
- Rotate Text Down — rotates the text 90° clockwise.
