Creating a recurring event

A recurring event is an event that repeats on a regular basis: daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. For example, if you have to make a report every Monday, you can add the same event to your calendar several times or create this event once and specify how often it occurs using the Repeat Event feature.

This guide explains how to configure a recurring event.

Access the Calendar

Sign in to your portal and click the Calendar Calendar Tool Icon icon at the top of the page.

Add a new event or select an existing one

Click Create New... in the upper-left corner and select the Event, or left-click the day on which you wish to create an event and click Details. The Create new event page will open. Complete the basic information, including name, location, date, and time; add a description if needed.

To mark an existing event as recurring, click the event title and click Edit at the bottom of the pop-up window.

Set the recurrence period

Open the Repeat drop-down list and select one of the available options: never, every day, every week, every month, every year.

To set a custom recurrence period, select the corresponding option from the Repeat drop-down list and adjust the available settings:

  • set the start date in the starting with field using the keyboard or by selecting the date from the calendar;

  • select the recurrence rule:

    • by days
      use this option to repeat your event on a daily basis and enter a number of days you wish to repeat your event by;

    • by weeks
      use this option to repeat your event on a certain weekday, set the number of weeks between repetitions and select the appropriate weekdays;

    • by months
      use this option to repeat your event at monthly intervals. Set the number of months you wish to repeat your event by and select one of the options below:
      - every X day to repeat your event on a specific date of the month;
      - every X weekday to repeat your event on a specific day of the week based on its position in the month (First, Second, etc.);

    • by years
      use this option to repeat your event on a yearly basis and set the number of years you wish to repeat your event by.

  • set the end by selecting one of the available options:

    • never
      use this option to repeat the event a specific number of times and enter the desired count;
    • number of times
      use this option for the event to occur a specific number of times and enter the number of times to repeat your event;
    • date
      use this option to stop the recurrence after a specific date and set the end date using the keyboard or by selecting a date from the calendar.

To apply the changes, click Save.

The event will be added to your calendar for a specified time period. To receive a notification before the event, set an event reminder.

Delete a recurring event

To delete a recurring event, click the recurring event title, then click Delete at the bottom of the pop-up window.

The Delete recurring event window will open. Select one of the following three options:

  • This event only
  • This event and all that follow
  • All events in the series

Once an option has been selected, click Apply.
