Integrating ONLYOFFICE with OneDrive

Connect your OneDrive account to edit documents stored in OneDrive directly from the Documents portal module.

Server version

Step 1. Creating authorization keys

To create the authorization keys required to connect OneDrive to your portal:

  1. Go to Microsoft Azure.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Click New registration on the App registrations page.
  4. Enter your application Name.
  5. Enter https://service.onlyoffice.com/oauth2.aspx in the Redirect URL field.
  6. Click Register.
  7. Copy or note down the Application (client) ID displayed on the Overview page.
  8. Select the Certificates & secrets section on the left.
  9. Click New client secret.
  10. Enter a description and click Add.
  11. Copy or note down the Client secret displayed in the Value field.
Step 2. Connecting OneDrive on the portal

To connect OneDrive on your portal:

  1. Click the Settings Icon icon in the upper-right corner to open Settings.
  2. Select the Integration tab.
  3. Open the Third-Party Services page.
  4. Scroll down to OneDrive and click the toggle to enable it.
  5. In the OneDrive window that opens, enter the Application (client) ID and Client secret obtained in the previous step.
  6. Click Enable to connect the service.

Cloud version

Connecting OneDrive for Business or SharePoint

OneDrive for Business and SharePoint can be connected under an Office 365 Global admin account only.

To connect OneDrive for Business or SharePoint:

  1. In the left sidebar, click the three dots Dots under the Connect section and select SharePoint or OneDrive for Business in the Connecting account window, or go to Settings > Connected clouds and click Connect cloud.

  2. Enter the Connection URL. The URL must follow this format: https://****-my.sharepoint.com/. Do not include any path segments after the top-level domain.
  3. Enter the Login and Password for your Office 365 account.
  4. Specify the name of the folder where the documents will be stored, or leave the default name.
  5. Click Save.

Editing OneDrive documents

To edit a document stored in OneDrive:

  1. Locate the OneDrive folder in the Documents module and open it.
  2. Browse to the file you want to edit and click it. If necessary, a dialog will prompt you to convert the document to the Office Open XML format for faster viewing and editing. To keep the original file, select the Save the file copy in the original format as well checkbox.
  3. Click Convert.
  4. Click Open when the message appears that the document has been successfully converted.

After editing, close the document to save the changes.
