Launch Desktop Editors. In the main program window, switch to the Settings tab. Click the Test end-to-end encryption switcher. After that, the End-to-end encryption tab will be available at the left sidebar.
Open the End-to-end encryption tab. First you need to create an account in our test blockchain network. Please note that currently this network is intended for testing purposes only.
Click the Create an account button. In a new window that opens, you can see a Mnemonic phrase which is used to generate a key pair. Keep it in a safe place as it is the only way to unlock your blockchain account. This might be necessary if you forgot your account password, or want to access your existing account from another local machine, or want to switch between two your accounts.
Specify your new account Password and confirm it in the corresponding fields. The password should contain at least 8 characters. This password will be used to enable the encryption mode during the next sessions.
this password is also used to protect the .docx file that contains the mnemonic phrase corresponding to your current blockchain account. The file is stored on your local machine and can be found here:
C:\Users\<currrent_user>\AppData\Local\ONLYOFFICE\DesktopEditors\data\sdkjs-plugins\advanced_crypto_data.docx
When ready, click the Create account button. Now the encryption mode is enabled.
To enable the encryption mode during the next sessions, open the End-to-end encryption tab at the left sidebar in the main program window and click the switcher on the top or use the I already have an account link below. The Secure Login window opens where you need to specify your blockchain account password and click the Log in button.
currently, you can create an unlimited number of accounts. But documents encrypted using one of the accounts cannot be accessed from a different account. If you have created several accounts, you can use the Forgot password? link, then enter your mnemonic phrase that corresponds to the necessary account and specify a new password to restore access to the account.
Important
If you forgot the mnemonic phrase, there is no possibility to restore access.
