TDIST function
The TDIST function is one of the statistical functions. Returns the Percentage Points (probability) for the Student t-distribution where a numeric value (x) is a calculated value of t for which the Percentage Points are to be computed. The t-distribution is used in the hypothesis testing of small sample data sets. Use this function in place of a table of critical values for the t-distribution.
Syntax
TDIST(x, deg_freedom, tails)
The TDIST function has the following arguments:
| Argument | Description |
|---|---|
| x | The value at which the function should be calculated. A numeric value greater than 0. |
| deg_freedom | The number of degrees of freedom, an integer greater than or equal to 1. |
| tails | A numeric value that specifies the number of distribution tails to return. If it is set to 1, the function returns the one-tailed distribution. If it is set to 2, the function returns the two-tailed distribution. |
