What counts as a concurrent active user?
A concurrent active user is any user who currently has a document open in the ONLYOFFICE Docs editor, whether actively editing or just viewing. Users who are logged in to the integrated platform but do not have a document open are not counted toward this limit.
Hardware requirements depending on concurrent active users
The hardware requirements for ONLYOFFICE Docs can differ depending on the number of concurrent active users.
| Number of concurrent active users | Minimal hardware server configuration |
|---|---|
| less than 100 | Single core Intel Sandy Bridge or better processor running at 2.8 GHz,
4 GB RAM, 40 GB of free hard disk drive space |
| 100 - 200 | Dual core Intel Sandy Bridge or better processor running at 2.8 GHz,
4 GB RAM, 80 GB of free hard disk drive space |
| 200 - 400 | Quad core Intel Sandy Bridge or better processor running at 2.8 GHz,
4 GB RAM, 160 GB of free hard disk drive space |
| 400+ | Cluster deployment recommended. Contact ONLYOFFICE for sizing guidance. |
For deployments with more than 400 concurrent users, we recommend using external PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ services on dedicated servers, or deploying ONLYOFFICE Docs on Kubernetes. See the Kubernetes deployment guide for details.
Hardware configuration is given for reference use only. The real number of the server users depends on the number, type, and size of the documents that the users work with.
