NEGBINOM.DIST Function

The NEGBINOM.DIST function is one of the statistical functions. It is used to return the negative binomial distribution, the probability that there will be Number_f failures before the Number_s-th success, with Probability_s probability of a success.

Syntax

NEGBINOM.DIST(number_f, number_s, probability_s, cumulative)

The NEGBINOM.DIST function has the following arguments:

Argument Description
number_f The number of failures, a numeric value greater than or equal to 0.
number_s The threshold number of successes, a numeric value greater than or equal to 1.
probability_s The success propability of each trial, a numeric value greater than 0, but less than 1.
cumulative A logical value (TRUE or FALSE) that determines the function form. If it is TRUE, the function returns the cumulative distribution function. If it is FALSE, the function returns the probability density function.
